Christmas in Paris

Although I'm actually sat on my sofa writing this back in the UK, I felt like I needed to put up a blog post about the run up to Christmas in Paris as it has been too long since I last wrote on here! Christmas Eve marks my 6 month anniversary of when I moved to Paris, so it only seems fitting to put up a Christmas related post.

I haven't actually been up to that much in the past few weeks, mainly walking through the streets of Paris checking out all the Christmas lights and going for drinks with all my pals who are leaving Paris and coming to an end of the first half of their year abroad.

One of those friends I've had to say goodbye to is Jennie, who was the best at getting me out the house after work, so a shout out for her to taking me to some of the most interesting bars that Paris has to offer. Here are a selection of some of the strangest toilets I've ended up seeing thanks to her.

Aux Folies - Belleville

Here are some photos I've taken in the weeks running up to Christmas in Paris...

Decorating the apartment

So much Paris in one photo, Eiffel Tower, The Seine, Pont de Alexandre III, Grand Palais, Luxor Obelisk, Champs Elysées, Arc du Triomphe, what a truc de dingue!

Tribute to Nelson Mandela

Galeries Lafayette

One of the many Parisian Christmas markets. Only I can't remember if this one is in Neuilly or Saint Germain des Prés. Woops.

The view from the incredibly swanky restaurant where we had our work Christmas meal

The nicest chocolates I've ever eaten - a present from work

Getting into the festive spirit at the local shopping centre

Having French names makes Starbucks a million times easier, forever grateful to the parents for calling me Sophie

Football skills in Montmartre

Traditional Belgian dance troupe (?) that we came across. They were randomly doing their little dance and handing out clementines in the streets of Marcel Sembat.

"Sophie, you know the name of this wine means Onion Peel in French?". Um, nope.

As beautiful as Paris is in the Winter, it is so nice to be home.

Until next year!

Sophie
